Warning: Beware of fake IELTS certificate offers

We have noticed an increase in online advertisements offering fake IELTS certificates (otherwise known as IELTS Test Report Forms). They are often advertised as ‘verified IELTS certificates’ or ‘scores without taking an IELTS test’. Some of these offers even make false claims that  they have ‘insider help’ from IDP or British Council try to make their false offers look more convincing.





You might see these offers on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, LinkedIn or various other websites and blogs.

IDP works with Facebook and other social media channels to have fake offers of this nature removed. We also have processes in place to get websites offering fake IELTS certificates taken down. However, the criminals who create these websites will often then republish their offers under new URLs. That is why we want to advise all potential IELTS test candidates that these ‘offers’ are scams and we strongly discourage any communication with the people offering these services. 

 Remember that any IELTS certificate or Test Report Form obtained without taking an IELTS test at an official IELTS test centre is a scam designed to make money.

If you use a fake IELTS Test Report Form, it will be rejected. Immigration departments, universities and professional associations you are applying to are able to verify every result online and therefore they can also detect and reject false results.

Beware of these recent scams
1 - Fraudulent ‘IELTS Freedom’ website 
Please be aware that the following site: http://www.ieltsfreedom.com/index.html is fraudulent and in no way associated or approved by IDP Education nor the IELTS Partnership. The website has been reported and will soon be taken down. Test takers are advised to ignore any IELTS certificates or IELTS related services offered by the ‘IELTS Freedom’ website as they will be detected as fake and will not be accepted for study or visa purposes under any circumstances.




2 - Pakistan - WhatsApp message 
The below message has been circulating in Pakistan. This is a scam and should be ignored. An investigation is underway and anyone who takes up this offer is at risk of immediate disqualification and exclusion from the test. Any results already provided as a result of taking up this offer will also be cancelled.
