Introducing yourself and introducing other people

There are many of ways to introduce yourself and other people.

Introducing yourself:
These are some expressions you can use when introducing yourself:


My name is ...
I'm ....
Nice to meet you; I'm ...
Pleased to meet you; I'm ...
Let me introduce myself; I'm ...
I'd like to introduce myself; I'm ...

Introducing others:
Here some expressions you can use to introduce others:

John, please meet Susan.
John, have you met Susan?
I'd like you to meet Peter.
I'd like to introduce you to Marshall.
Brandon, this is Barbara. Susan this is Kathy.

Useful responses when introducing yourself or other people:
Nice to meet you.
Pleased to meet you.
Happy to meet you.
How do you do?

Dialogue:
Alex is talking to the new manager and his assistant. Notice how they introduce themselves:

David: Hi! My name is David Letterman, the new manager.
William: Hi! I'm William O'Connor. Nice to meet you, Mr Letterman
John: Bob, please meet Mr Steve Mason, my assistant
Bob: How do you do?
Steve: How do you do?

Things to remember:
When introducing yourself or other people in a formal situation use full names. ("I'm Alex David Letterman)"
"How do you do?" isn't really a question, it just means "Hello"
